Safety Assessment at Saudi Aramco Part 2

Posted on October 25, 2025October 25, 2025 by Engr. Hamid Ali

This is a safety assessment exam at Saudi Aramco part 2 and it covers MCQs 21-30. It is a practice test for all the interested safety profeccionals at Saudi Aramco, which is the world’s largest oil company and a major player in the energy sector based in Saudi Arabia.

The primary purpose of this document is to test the your knowledge on critical safety protocols and procedures that must be followed while working at Saudi Aramco facilities. Passing such tests is often a mandatory requirement for personnel to be certified to work on-site.

Saudi Aramco Safety Quiz – Part 2 (Questions 21–30)

21) How many clips are required to construct an eye in a one-half inch wire rope?

  • 3 clips with U bolts on the live end
  • 4 clips with U bolts on the live end
  • 3 clips with U bolt on the dead end
  • 4 clips with U bolts on the dead end
When making an eye in a 1/2-inch wire rope, three clips are typically used, and the U-bolt should be placed on the dead end to prevent crushing the live part of the rope. Remember the phrase: “Never saddle a dead horse.”

22) Class “B” fires involve flammable liquids or gases that could be under pressure. What would give you most concern when selecting a Class “B” fire extinguisher?

  • Exposure to electrical equipment
  • Depth of flammable liquid
  • Location of fire exits
  • Type of fire detectors present
The effectiveness of Class “B” extinguishers depends on the depth of the flammable liquid. Deep pools require higher capacity or foam extinguishers to prevent re-ignition.

23) How long is a work permit usually valid?

  • 1 Month
  • 1 Week
  • 1 Shift
  • 1 Day
Work permits are generally valid for one shift to ensure that site conditions are re-evaluated daily for safety compliance.

24) How far apart (maximum) shall access/egress ladders be in excavation?

  • 10 ft
  • 25 ft
  • 50 ft
  • 75 ft
OSHA requires that access or egress ladders in excavations be located within 25 ft of lateral travel for safe worker exit.

25) When transferring an extremely flammable liquid from a 55-gallon drum via a hand pump to a small metal can, which of the following provides the best protection?

  • Ground both container
  • Bond both container together
  • Bond container together and ground each to a separate ground
  • Ground one container and then bond them to each other
Grounding one container and bonding both prevents static electricity buildup and ensures a continuous electrical path, avoiding sparks during transfer.

26) A small mobile crane with rubber tires has struck a power line. What is the proper course of action for the crane operator?

  • Jump from the crane and run away
  • Stay in the crane until emergency crews arrive
  • Have the oiler knock the line from the boom with a wood pole
  • Swing the boom until the line breaks
The safest action is to stay inside the crane, as exiting can cause electrocution. The operator should remain inside until power is confirmed off and crews arrive.

27) When checking the ground on a duplex outlet, which of the following provides the best method?

  • Check continuity between the block and white wire
  • Check continuity between green wire and the outlet box
  • Check continuity between white wire and the outlet box
  • Check continuity between green wire and building ground
Testing between the green (ground) wire and outlet box ensures the grounding path is intact and effective.

28) Which of the following is true concerning explosion-proof equipment?

  • The explosion will stay inside the container
  • Not producing sparks under any condition
  • Operating below ignition temperature
  • Shutting down in emergency
Explosion-proof equipment is designed to prevent ignition by containing sparks or arcs within an enclosure that cannot ignite the surrounding atmosphere.

29) Minimum period of time the appointed “fire watch” remains at the site of HOT work after activity has stopped?

  • 10 minutes
  • 15 minutes
  • 30 minutes
  • 60 minutes
After hot work, the fire watch must remain for at least 30 minutes to ensure no hidden sparks or smoldering material can cause re-ignition.

30) One purpose of the “Anti Two Block” device on a crane is:

  • To determine the weight of the load lifted
  • To prevent the blocking block from contacting outrigger floats
  • To determine the length of the wire rope extended
  • To prevent the overhaul ball from contacting the boom sheaves
The Anti Two Block device prevents the load block from hitting the boom tip, avoiding wire rope damage and potential failure.
